Pekelné doly Cvikov

Pekelné doly is an extensive underground network of spaces and passages in the valley of the Svitávka River, amid the beautiful nature of the Lusatian Mountains near the Máchovo jezero recreation area. It lies between the villages of Velenice and Svitava, in the foothills of the Lusatian Mountains. Europe's largest sandstone underground complex was created in the 18th century by mining sand for a mirror factory and grinding works. The total area of the caves is approximately 3,500 m².
