Mladečské jeskyně Mladeč

The Mladeč Caves are located in the Litovelské Pomoraví Protected Landscape Area. A complex labyrinth of fissure passages and chambers lies within the limestone hill of Třesín. The underground spaces are richly decorated with stalactites and sinter deposits. The caves offer an atmosphere of the distant past. They are the largest and oldest settlement of Cro-Magnon humans in Central Europe. The world-famous archaeological site is the Dome of the Dead, with remains of prehistoric hearths and animal bones and a reconstruction of an ancient ritual. Picturesque corners underground feature both old stalactites and new formations.
