THEATRUM KUKS Z. S.

Theatrum Kuks z.s. continues Kuks's Baroque tradition as an artistic and cultural centre of European importance. It organises the festival of the same name, a multi-genre event with a twenty-year history. Over five days, it offers visitors Baroque and Baroque-inspired art amid the surroundings of the Kuks complex and nearby area. It seeks to reconnect the two banks of Kuks and revive the performing arts that have not survived as well as the architecture and Braun's sculptures. It runs the Puppet Gallery and organises the Little Puppet Inventory, paying tribute to Kuks's Baroque sculpture and puppetry traditions.

Theatrum Kuks is unique for a programme rooted in local cultural history, which it recalls and develops through art projects (a festival, exhibitions and puppetry) and by engaging with the Kuks landscape. It does not preserve local history in a fixed form, but opens it to new interpretations. All our activities, concentrated in the summer season, enrich the potential of the small village of Kuks, with its major cultural heritage of European significance. In an entertaining and engaging way, they present the Baroque as part of everyday life and inspire people to be creative themselves.
