More about promoter
Divadlo Polárka is a theatre whose artistic work reaches audiences of every age. Families can enjoy performances, workshops, concerts, festivals and other community activities on both the Main and Small Stages, as well as in the Garden behind the theatre and the surrounding area.
The theatre became a professional stage in 1999, and since then many notable artists have worked there (including Martin Františák, Jan Mikulášek and Hana Mikolášková). It also gives opportunities to young creators and graduates of theatre schools. In recent years Divadlo Polárka was led by artistic director Jan Cimr, who was succeeded by Jiří Hajdyla in 2022.
Divadlo Polárka performs for the public and schools and offers a varied repertoire in which audiences of all ages can encounter different theatrical universes. At Polárka, you can see everything from straight plays, puppetry and devised theatre, movement productions and shows for the youngest audiences to spectacular cosmic hard-disco concerts by the theatre band Polaris.
Alongside its productions, Polárka offers other programmes, including accompanying events (such as Children's Day, the autumn Polárkový dort festival and the MimiArt festival for the youngest children) and workshops for the public and school groups.
Through its programming, Divadlo Polárka accompanies audiences on the journey to adulthood, both in form and in subject matter.
The Polárníček, PolaroID and PolarITy theatre studios are also part of Divadlo Polárka.
