Resourceful expressions through the everyday folk dress with artist Sonya Darrow.

Expat friendly event in English (but Czechs shouldn't be afraid to join either).

Czech-American artist Sonya Darrow uses traditional folk art practices to create unique forms of folk dress. For Nadace Veronica (Veronica Foundation), she will share her passion for folk dress materials and techniques in a 4 hours workshop.

The group of 10 participants will be introduced to:

👉 the work of artist Sonya Darrow as heritage caretaker both in the US and in the Czech Republic

👉 different techniques used traditionally to decorate folk dresses

👉 different materials that could be used for contemporary folk dress & the ways in which they could be used in a meaningful way

👉 hands on part of the workshop where one can pick a folk dress item (top or skirt) to personalize under the supervision of Sonya Darrow.

Please note that the booking fee of 100 CZK does not include a folk dress item for you to decorate and take home. A folk dress piece may be bought on site for additional 300 CZK or may be paid in advance by choosing the 390 CZK ticket or 590 CZK ticket (the latter one includes a donation of 200 CZK for Veronica Foundation). 

All the proceeds and donations wil be used for charity - to support local environmental projects through Veronica´s grant scheme.

Complimentary snacks, tea and coffee will be provided during the whole workshop.
