J.J. Bigband je orchestr který se před lety zformoval kolem známého trombonisty a hlavně pedagoga Jana Jakubce (Orchestr Karla Vlacha, HDK...). Ten do kapely přinesl to nejlepší z klasického světového repertoiru a založil tradici pravidelných bigbandových koncertů v pražských Čakovicích. Pod jeho vedením natočil orchestr v roce 2010 své debutové album ve studiích Českého rozhlasu v Karlíně s několika hostujícími sólisty. V poslední době se repertoir kapely zřetelně posouvá směrem k současnější tvorbě, orchestr hraje víc pop a funky a zkouší i nová aranžmá mladých českých autorů. Zároveň pokračuje ve spoluráci s některými vynikajícími instrumentalisty a kromě toho příležitostně doprovází sólisty zvučných jmen i hlasů, jako je Dasha, nebo skvělá zpěvačka z amerického východního pobřeží Kaia Brown, front(wo)man kapel N.O.H.A. a Tonny Blues Band. Hostem nedělního koncertu v Le Royal bude také vyhledávaný pianista, dvorní doprovazeč Karla Gotta, Ondřej Hájek.

For the main courses - “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” and “Amazing Grace," and for dessert - “Let It Snow." Of course, we can't forget the savory delicacies from the Miles Davis legacy nor the selections from the finest vintages of Earth, Wind and Fire or Tower of Power. Indulge yourself on the fine "Sir Duke" à la Stevie Wonder or refined flavors crafted by Henry Mancini, served in an exciting arrangement by Sammy Nestico, spiced with an exotic mix of Chick Corea. Several selections will be served with passion by the exclusive guest of the evening, the phenomenal American singer Kaia Brown.

J.J. Bigband – the orchestra formed years ago around the famous trombonist and especially teacher Jan Jakubec (Karel Vlach Orchestra, HDK ...). To the band he brought the best of the classical big band repertoire, and established regular open air concerts in Prague - Czakovice. In 2010 the orchestra recorded it's debut album in the Czech Radio studios with several guest soloists. Recently, the repertoire of the band moves toward more contemporary stuff, the orchestra plays pop and funk as well as the new arrangements by young Czech artists. Also continues working with some outstanding instrumentalists and accompanies well known soloists like Dasha, or the great singer from America's East coast Kaia Brown, the front(wo)man of groups N.O.H.A. and Tonny Blues Band. The guest of Sunday's concert at Le Royal will be the experienced pianist and Mr. Karel Gott's indispensable accompaniment Andrew Hayek.
