The Czechoslovak Ballroom scene has been slowly but steadily growing thanks to the fabulous leaders in our scene. You know who you are! With more and more people joining the community, there is a need for something more regular, an event where we can get together / practice together in a club environment, so we can represent our scene in the best way possible internationally. This is a place to learn and shape your performance before going to kiki / major balls. For advanced, take this opportunity to practice and try different categories without worrying about making mistakes.

!!! Vogue Downs is not a ball, just a safe space for you to practice your craft !!!

There is no dress code or theme for categories. Hence you have complete creative freedom over your outfits. Every battle will only have 1 winner, so if you end up in final with your fam you better battle them out 😊

This is different from your regular event!

Like other ballroom events, Vogue Downs takes place within a Safe(r) space ideology. The Ballroom is mainly addressing people who identify as LGBTQIA+, B*PoC, or PoC. The Ballroom is an inclusive space; all bodies are welcome to join and celebrate. Still, we expect sensitivity, awareness, and allyship for the community, both in and out of the Ballroom. There is no space for racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, misogyny, or any other form of discrimination.

Everybody is welcome to join and watch Vogue Downs. Please support and cheer for the performers as it takes some balls to enter this stage. So express yourself, enjoy the community, and dance to the beat, but please only enter the runway if you are ready!

There are no outfit rules, dress code, or specific expectations. But if you feel like it, Vogue Downs is the right place to go wild. So feel yourself and bring some love to your outfit!

LipSync Cathegory:

This time we are doing Lipsync showcase. You will choose any song you wish to perform and have the whole stage for yourself. You must perform the entire song (unless you get a chop)—the best showcase wins. Feel free to bring props, use some spectators (with consent, of course,   ), and give us a show we won't forget.
