The 39 Steps is a wildly entertaining comedy thriller that hurtles from London to the Scottish Highlands, following the footsteps of Richard Hannay – a seemingly ordinary fellow who finds himself entangled in a deadly spy plot.

With just a handful of actors playing dozens of characters, this ingenious stage adaptation combines Hitchcock-style suspense with lightning-fast costume changes, inventive staging, and hilarious physical comedy. The 39 Steps will keep you on the edge of your seats – and in stitches!

BEST divadlo is an English-speaking community theater company based in Brno. Its focus is on plays originally written in English, whether it be the classics or contemporary pieces. BEST was founded in 2018 and after a long pandemic-related hiatus revived in 2024. The 39 Steps was the first play performed after the revival – and it was well-loved by the cast and the crew, as well as the audiences. We're thrilled to introduce it again, even better than before!
