Being forced to explore

The Irish are great explorers, so much so that there is even a name for them: Wild Geese. Unfortunately, this is because millions have been driven from their homeland. This led Ben Finch, an Irish journalist and photographer, to document the great forced migration of our times – the Syrian refugee crisis.

Ben will discuss and show pictures of the plight of Syrian refugees and how his Irishness made him approach their difficulties with empathy and search for hope in their lives. He will also chat about his arrival in Brno and travels around the globe since leaving the middle east.
