Masterclass: "How to see light"

How does light change the meaning and atmosphere of a scene? In this introductory workshop, gaffer Erik Žila, who lit the feature films Chica Checa, Útěk and the miniseries Inspekce, will guide participants through the fundamentals of cinematic lighting.

How many lights do you need? What role does each light source play? And how do different lighting setups shape the final image? Together with Erik, the participants will analyze selected films (in regards of light) and apply the principles they learn to practically light a black-and-white scene.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to better understand cinematic lighting and to use it to enhance the visual language of their films.
