A Femme Palette Book Club: Celebrating Women in Literature

Join us for a light evening of stories and connection at cozy Kavárna Tika!

Another evening of insightful conversations on empowering books that shape our understanding of women's journeys. Hosted by FP Ambassador Veronika Smrčková, this book club meet-up is a tribute to narratives penned by authors illuminating the path towards women empowerment. Unlike many book clubs, we don't read entire books – we focus on short stories, making preparation less demanding and more accessible for everyone.

As always, we’re excited to welcome new faces to our book club! Whether you're a long-time member or joining us for the first time, you're warmly invited to be part of these enriching discussions. BOOK CLUB FEATURE: “The Standard of Living” by Dorothy Parker

Witty, sharp, and quietly heartbreaking, The Standard of Living explores the fragile line between hope and reality through the story of two women dreaming of a better life. With her signature irony and emotional precision, Dorothy Parker captures longing, friendship, and the subtle compromises we make when ambition meets circumstance.

A short but powerful read that opens the door to rich conversations about expectations, independence, and what “success” really means.

Attendees are expected to read the proposed short story and are expected to share their insights and takeaways and engage in a discussion that celebrates women’s strength, courage, and resilience.

After that, there will be a space for attendees to share tips on books they read recently, whether they're memoirs, fiction, essays, or poetry. Each piece of literature has the potential to inspire, educate, and uplift. It aims to share recommended readings with the community and attendees.

This event is not just about books. It is also an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals with a passion for literature that empowers them.
